Lindsey Christensen
MS, LMFT
Lindsey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in treating issues pertaining to anxiety, depression, sexuality, and interpersonal relationships. She particularly enjoys working with individuals and couples who are seeking to better understand themselves within their relationships. Working from a family systems perspective and often drawing from Attachment Theory, she is able to help people identify where they are “stuck,” and how they can shift their dynamics and strengthen their relationships. Lindsey is also a Child Mental Health Specialist and offers parent support for issues pertaining to parent/child bonding, behavioral modification, and psychoeducation on child development and age-appropriate parenting strategies. She most often utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy to support clients in reaching their goals. She offers a direct but warm approach, and aims to balance the emotional labor of therapy with an apt sense of humor and authenticity.
Lindsey grew up in South King County and has called both Federal Way and Maple Valley “home.” In 2013 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies from Central Washington University, and in 2015 she received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. In 2016 she completed the advanced course for clinical sexology at Seattle Pacific University. She has worked in child and family services, private practice, and as a counselor for members of the armed forces. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, read, “zen out” in nature, do hot yoga, play with her 2-year-old daughter, Holland, and her tuxedo cat, Goose.
