Maggie Eastman

LMFTA

Clinician

Maggie enjoys the intersection and mutual impact of mental and physical health. This focused perspective helps her clients in creating attainable goals. She uses psychoeducation on the brain and body connection to help clients develop their identity and feel more positively connected to it. Maggie is a queer-friendly therapist who works with clients from all backgrounds. She encourages clients to be an active part of their own therapeutic process and will work with them to set measurable, realistic goals, and to map a plan for how to get there. This often includes actionable homework assignments, helping clients stay connected to goals between sessions.

As a first responder for 17 years, she is skilled at helping other first responders navigate a complex career, understand the importance of identity outside of being a first responder, and navigate between work and personal relationships. She is a yoga instructor with Yoga For First Responders and is committed to helping them learn resilience and regulation to maximize their mental health and wellbeing during their career. She has training and education in Medical Therapy which she applies to work with cancer patients, caregivers, medical professionals, and others dealing with complex medical issues and chronic pain. Maggie is a three-time cancer survivor. Straddling both the patient and provider worlds, she helps navigate this journey and teaches how to advocate for needs and desired care.

Outside of therapy, Maggie is a writer and is currently working on short stories and a novel. She teaches creative and therapeutic writing in small groups. Maggie enjoys traveling. Her favorite experience was volunteering as a surrogate to orphaned chimpanzees in Uganda where she would feed and play with them. Maggie also enjoys hiking and being outdoors. She has a dog, Grace, who incidentally does not enjoy hiking or being outdoors.
