Clinician
Julia is an inquisitive and thoughtful clinician. Her approach to therapy is informed by existential-phenomenological theory and cognitive behavioral psychology. Her professional experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, particularly with individuals experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, behavioral aspects of comorbid medical conditions, and families affected by or with a history of substance use disorder. Since 2016, Julia has been a member of the Pierce County Opioid Task Force and in 2021 joined forces with the task force to co-chair the MOUD (Medicines for Opioid Use Disorder) Integration Committee.
Born and raised in a suburb of the other Washington, Washington, DC, Julia attended local parochial schools and was fortunate to finish her last year of high school in Seattle at Holy Names Academy. She completed her undergraduate work at Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, minoring in Philosophy and Dance. Eager to learn more about the behavioral health field and create a positive impact in the lives of others, she completed a year with Jesuit Volunteer Corps, working to house seniors experiencing homelessness in the Oakland, California area. She earned a Masters of Arts in Psychology at Seattle University and following graduation had the wonderful opportunity to work with a small group of graduates from this program to research, present, and publish work on the topic, the phenomenology of money.
Julia enjoys being in the great outdoors, knitting, dancing, spending time with friends, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her family.
