Alina believes change is possible and you have the power and strength inside you to attain it. She will meet you where you are at as well as assist you in becoming the healthiest, most whole version of yourself through the exploration of your family of origin, cultural background, thought patterns and behaviors. She believes a person is not defined but empowered by their struggles; empowered to learn, grow, and heal into who they desire to be.
Alina’s primary therapeutic approach is client-centered while utilizing aspects of other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused and Strengths-Based therapy. Alina believes the therapeutic alliance between client and therapist is a crucial component to the overall therapeutic experience. She strives to make the client feel heard, seen, valued and accepted exactly where they are. Alina has experience working with clients who are experiencing life transitions, relationship problems, addiction/recovery, depression and anxiety. She works with children and adults.
Alina holds a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University Portland in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Seminary. She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and had the privilege of living overseas for several years after completing her undergraduate studies. In her free time, Alina loves to cook, bake, travel, be outside, spend time with friends and family, or catch up on the latest TV show episode or watch a movie with her husband.
